Help Wanted

Wow!! What a powerful General Relief Society Conference we just experienced. I absolutely loved every talk, but I will admit that Sister Beck's was the most powerful, inspirational, call to repent talk I have heard in a long time--at least for me. President Monson also hammered it home for me as well.

I have decided to take the counsle to heart and like Sister Beck said, store up money, food and skills. The first two are easy, but I lack in so many skills I wish I had. Some of those are making clothes and quilting. I did a story on a quilt shop earlier Saturday afternoon, so that was fresh in my head. The pic is the name of the store.

For all my more skilled friends, what are some ways to get started in making clothes and blankets that you can share with me...the beginner. I know how to sew a button, barely...so I have a lot to learn.

Hey Jillian,
I toldly again about gaining skills. There are so many things that I want to learn but I think that they are all hard to accomplish, money, food and skills. I can a bit more then a button but I need to learn to garden, get better at canning and so much more. I would love to get together and we can sew and then try and teach each other something new every once in a while. One thing that I have learned to do is ask older people in my ward for thier help and advice. They are almost always willing to share what they know and most of them know those long lost skills that we tend not to use as much anymore but would be awesome to have. So that is what I would suggest.
